Accompanist
Our Accompanist, Ivan Linford
Ivan enjoys a busy freelance career as an organist and pianist.
Based in Oakham, Ivan is a member of the team of organists at Warren Hill Crematorium in Kettering and regularly plays at local churches on Sundays. He is also rehearsal accompanist to the Leicester Bach Choir, the Harborough Singers, and the Melton Mowbray Choral Society. In addition, he is much in demand both locally and further afield for weddings, funerals and concerts.
Ivan holds a Bachelor of Music and a Master of Arts from the University of Huddersfield. He is an Associate of the Royal College of Organists and a Fellow of the Incorporated Society of Musicians. As a postgraduate, he was Organ Scholar at Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral, and has since held positions at Oakham Parish Church, Leicester Cathedral and Oakham School.
Born in Peterborough in 1973, Ivan was a chorister at Peterborough Cathedral. As a choral accompanist, he has travelled widely, including to Ireland, France, Belgium, Italy, Hungary and the United States. He has given organ recitals and accompanied choirs at many of England’s finest cathedrals, including Peterborough, Liverpool (Anglican and Metropolitan), Wakefield, Blackburn, Guildford, Lichfield, Ely, Norwich, Salisbury, Coventry, Canterbury, Winchester, Oxford, St Albans, St David’s and St Paul’s.
He has also appeared on BBC television and radio.
